Ramble, Ramble, Ramble

Day 55 - Grenfell, the birthplace of Henry Lawson. To increase your enjoyment I have added some new and exciting features. Firstly there is a list of all the places I have stayed at, with links to more information about the towns. Secondly there is a list of the Chinese restaurants in each town that I stay at, this is from an idea of Phil Sui's; a sort of Dim Sum meets fish and chips. Thirdly the photos now link to full size photos if you want to view them that way.

Someone once said that if you have no idea about what you are doing, that it is better to stay silent than open your mouth and prove it to everyone. Well here goes with some random scribbling on things that I have noticed whilst on the wallaby.

The media has become the home of the 15 second news grab, twitter has reduced people thoughts to a few, often poorly chosen words. The Sydney Morning Herald could never be accused of the above, or could they? They had a small article today about the death of a World War II fighter pilot who took part in the Battle of Britain. For all of those who didn't know about the battle of Britain, they offered the following "The battle of Britain pitted outnumbered Royal Air Force pilots against the Nazis aerial might", says it all, its short and to the point. To those History students who need to write an essay on the Battle of Britain, feel free to copy the above, it will save you a lot of time.

Just about every pub you come to in the really small country towns seems to be for sale. As examples I can offer the pubs at Brocklesbury, Grong Grong, Mirrool, Mt Hope, the one at Brocklesbury, to the best of my knowledge, has been for sale for at least two years. Those of you looking for the quiet life or a tree change may be able to find yourself a bargain.
