Life Is Peachy

Day 61 - Wellington, home of the famous 'Wellington Boot', (it's a horse race). The Federal Hotel pictured left was my basecamp for the Wellington leg of my journey. The rooms are $30 a night; they have been modernized, are clean and even have a TV set, highly recommended. If you own a caravan park you should be taking notice, charging $24 for one person for an unpowered tent site is way over the top when for $25 to $30 at a pub I can get power, TV and real bed to sleep in, right in the middle of town. I will be checking the pubs before caravan parks from now on.

Now for something that you will all be interested in, in fact it is something that I am sure many of you have endless debates about. I refer of course to the different methods of car parking, in Sydney the favoured car park is the 'parallel park', in the country some towns favour what I call 'nose dives' (front first), the most popular form in country NSW is rear to kerb 45 degree angle parking. It's not that difficult even I was able to master it eventually. A word from the wise though, a lot of country towns have a lot of colonial buidlings that have poles supporting their awnings and every car has blind spots when reversing and you can guess what might happen.

I was able to catch up with a couple of old friends in Wellington and had a very enjoyable time, the golf course is ok to.

Fuck I just nearly shit myself, had my head down in the computer, put my head up to have a think and 2 metres away was the below, luckily I had my camera. The fright was that great that it has taken seconds of my life.
