Now where was I?

Day 94 - Marlo. Long time no post; mostly because I was lost in the wilds of Sydney, it can be a dangerous place if you aren't properly prepared.
From Sydney I headed south to enjoy the sun, the surf, the beaches and golf. The golf was ok but I never saw the sun, the first picture, (of Depot Beach) pretty much sums up the weather, the only thing missing is an iceberg. I think it rained every day and occasionally there was a thunder storm to add a bit of interest. Listening to rain drops falling on the tent doesn't bother me at all, nor does the current 12 degree temperature. The weather was crap, but the scenery on the south coast is stunning, especailly in the National Parks.
One of the unstated KPI's of the trip was to site each of the animals on Australian coins. The Emu & Kangaroo were easy,
I saw an Echidna crossing the road (only the 2nd one I had ever seen) and last Tuesday I spotted a Lyrebird (the
first one I have seen), that just leaves the Platypus, how hard can it be to find a Platypus?
Finally I have moved back into Victoria, the weather hasn't changed, but at least I am back in gods own country. I am staying
at Marlo at the mouth of the Snowy River. Whilst walking along the waterside I saw a sign that said a Southern Elephant
Seal cow was resting at the beach, I couldn't see her, but next morning there she was (see photo below). It is extremely
unusual to see Southern Elephant seals on the Australian mainland, the nearest colony is at Macquarie Island which
is 1300 kilometres south east of Tasmania.
