I taw a puddy tat

Day 152 - Canunda National Park. I taw a puddy tat, a great big feral one about 2 metres away just looking at me, in a National Park too. Its lucky the 410 wasn't locked and loaded or it might have ended up as a hat in the late Harry Butler style.
Given that you are all interested in vintage tractors, you have probably all been wondering why I haven't mentioned them yet. Left is Caterpillar Model 20, built in 1928, the little sign at the front of the tractor says 1927, my research however indicates that it was probably 1928. The model 20 was the first tractor designed and manufactured by Caterpillar, this particular one has a serial number in the 400's so it was one of the first built. Australia Day was spent in Lameroo, they had their Australia Day Breakfast and Thong Throwing Competition in the same park as the caravan park and all of the campers at the park were invited. There were by my careful estimate 300+ people attending, which when you consider that the population is only around 600 was a very commendable effort. The mayor put the great community spirit of the town down to the fact that the community has to do everything for themselves, with little outside assistance, this he said brought the community closer together. The whole thing went swimmingly, breakfast was particularly enjoyable. I don't like boring you with golf, however on Saturday at Pinaroo something happend that you need to know about. Pinaroo Golf Course might just be the best 9 hole golf course I have played at. The fairways are couch grass and they were in immaculate condition, they are a credit to the volunteers who look after the course. As well as nearest the pin, drive and pitch etc they also have a ball prize for longest putt, where the winner is the person who sinks the longest putt of the day on a particular green. The winner was yours truly, with an amazing putt of about 2 metres, this takes my trophy tally for the trip to 3 golf balls. I should also point out there was a field of eight (8) so my win was even more hard earnt than you may have thought. If you are down that way do yourself and the Pinaroo Golf Club a favour and try the course out, I am absolutely positive that you will have a wonderful time. No names, no pack drill but I must report a conversation that I had with an eldery couple. They informed me that their town had no ferals. Apparently there used to be one, she was however run over by a car and was forced through injury to leave town. The husband indicated and the wife agreed that they were pretty sure that it wasn't an accident. I didn't hang around and kept my wits about me as I made my way back to my car and out of that place. The road kill tally went up by one this morning when I cleaned up another bird, it was a little black one that wasn't watching where it was going as it was being chased by another little little black one. That brings the count to 5. I have nearly finished my tour of South Australia and will embark on the Empress of Tasmania for the voyage to Tasmania on February 4, Yipee.
