Dinosaurs and Jump Ups

Day 224 - Ravenswood. To the left, some Ghost Gums at Porcupine Gorge, (its just out of Hughenden). This will probably be the last Ghost Gums ones you will see until the next lot. Wasn't it fantastic to see Adam Scott finally win a major. Sir Nick (Faldo) said Scott would be scarred for life after his implosion at last years Open (oops I nearly said British Open), scarred he may be but it hasn't stopped him from winning a major. Here in Queensland they were over the moon, the ABC news informed us that Queenslander Adam Scott had won the Masters and that Queenslander Jason Day had come third and um that Mark Leishman came 5th. I wonder what it was like on the commercial channels, its all harmless stuff I suppose but it would be nice to see some flicker of an indication that Queensland is beginning to grow up.
Highlight of the week was a visit to the the Dinosaur Stampede at Lark Quarry 110 kms south of Winton. 90 million years ago a large carnivorous dinosoar charged into a herd of very small dinsouars in search of a feed, needless to say the little fellows went in all directions. They whole lot took place on a mud flat and the foot prints have been preserved as fossiled foot prints in rock. You probably need to see it to appreciate it fully and it was very difficult to photograph in any meaningful way. Googlize it if you want to know more.
Owing to the fact that I manged to mangle my wrist I have been steering clear of the golf course. It nows seems to be ok, well when I play golf it doesn't hurt and there doesn't seem to be after effects next day, so golf courses here I come.
